sex, cheating and trains

It’s not polite, but people do it all the time. Reading over the shoulder of others that is. Especially when you’re standing and the other person is sitting. Even more so when a few explicit words catch your eye.

Yeah, I did it. I read over the shoulder of the man next to me on the train this morning, but in my defense I couldn’t help it! He was sitting and I was standing next to him. He was texting his wife, and the word “sex” caught me eye. I couldn’t not read it. And then, well, I just got sucked into it.

The gist, which I tweeted about this morning, was that he’d clearly been caught having “extra-marital” sex.
Her texts were all “I want it to be just us.” and “no more touching other people, just me” and his replies were all “yes, just you and me” and “I only want to have sex with you”.

Then he moved from his iPhone to his Blackberry and responded to a BBM message from another woman.
The gist of those messages were “I miss you” and “I can’t live without you” and “I want to die”.
His replies were very nice and caring, very much “don’t do that, you’re a special person” etc.

Then he moved back to his iPhone.
The wife had sent another message. This time along the lines of “I love you so much, you make me feel sexy, I can’t wait till we try your fantasy”.

The guy, he looks up and I’m thinking “uh-oh, he knows I’m reading all his texts over his shoulder!” BUT he looks around for a minute then looks back down (not noticing me!) and types “yeah, I love you so much too. I can’t wait. There isn’t anyone on the train that meets our requirements. Maybe the next train.”

Um. Did I just read that right?!? This guy is trolling the morning commuter trains for other people to have sex with him and his wife?

Just goes to show, you never really know what your fellow commuters are thinking about (unless you read their text messages over their shoulders).

In hind sight I probably should have picked a random lady in the carriage, bent down to him and whisper whilst point at said lady “what about her, she seems nice”.

Normally I’m not one to judge others but wait a New York Minute here. Lady, you catch your husband cheating on you, and then you forgive him and indulge him in his fantasy of a 3way?
Fuck me! Not literally of course, but you know.
Either you’re a very understanding and forgiving woman or you need a backbone and perhaps someone to help you get some self-esteem back.

I understand that you love your husband, I get it, I love my husband too. But if I ever found out that he’s been having it off or had it off with another woman, you can bet your ass that I’d be signing divorce papers quicker than he could say his own name. (word of warning dear husband)

Once you’ve smashed someone’s trust it can never fully heal. It’s like smashing a tea cup. You can pick up the pieces and glue them back together, but it’ll never be fully fixed. There will always be bits that have gone forever.

A marriage has to have trust, in fact, so does every friendship, otherwise how do you expect it to work?

So my question today is; Ladies, if you found out that your husband/partner/boyfriend/wife was having an affair with someone else, what would you do? Would you end your relationship, or would you hold on to your man/woman with both hands and indulge his/her fantasies.

But wait, I have a second question, for you Men; Men, do you really use commuter trains to find sex buddies? If so, how do you approach someone? How do you approach an absolute stranger and ask them if they want to have sex with you and your wife.

you are what you tweet

Have you ever actually stopped to think about what you tweet before you tweet it? Whilst Social Media is a fantastic tool, it’s also a pretty dangerous tool. It really surprises me how many people haven’t actually read the Terms and Conditions set by Twitter.

Many people seem to think that whatever they tweet is not allowed to be used by others, for example, a screenshot of someones tweet.  Twitter is a public forum and what you post (even if your account is a protected and locked account) is still public domain.  This means that at some point, your tweet could be seen by billions of people. After-all, you hear about tweets, blog posts, YouTube videos, etc, all going viral. This is because you share it with 100 people, and those 100 people then all share it with another 100 people, and then those people all share it with another 100 people, and so on.

So people, “you are what you tweet” – remember that. Otherwise you could become uncomfortably uncomfortable when your tweet is shared with a rather lot of people!

Always double check your tweets before publishing and ensure that you’ve made every effort to say what you mean and mean what you say, so that others can’t misinterpret what you’ve tweeted.

#FollowFridays

So it’s Friday again, and to be fair, I really only have one Twitter user to share with you this week. I’ve been so busy with work that I have hardly had any time on twitter at all!

So this week, my #followfriday is @avitable and he blogs over at his own site Avitable.com

Adam is a blogger, a stand up comic (who I find hilarious) and has a law degree which he combines with his smarts and common sense to create a virtual stick and clobber stupid people who plagiarise others and then complain about their site being turned into a parody.

Not sure how to say his name?  Watch this video, then go follow him.

My First Maternity Piece

I often find it difficult to shop for nice clothes that fit. Mainly because everywhere I shop, the size I normally wear never fits. I can be a UK size 16 in some shops but a UK size 22 in others. It’s ridiculous. I have the same issue with bras.

I’m actually a UK size 18. You’d think every size 18 was the same (insert maniacal laughter) its not.

A few months back I saw an amazing top. It’s was a very professional looking business wear shirt. I adored it until I released that it was in the maternity section. Women who aren’t pregnant shouldn’t wear maternity clothes. Except I really liked the top. So what I did, which is what anyone else (most people I guess) would. I asked twitter. The majority said just buy it. But I felt uncomfortable. So I didn’t buy it.

Then today I saw the most amazing top. A pink (yeah I know. me and pink!) floral top. Sleeveless, with a pleated neck line and buttons up the back. Then I released it was in the maternity section.
I couldn’t resist this one. So, I bought it.

I bought maternity clothes to wear without being pregnant.

I tried it on and it fit beautifully. It was comfortable, it felt great and it looked great and it hid my tummy.

I may not be pregnant but from now on I’m buying maternity wear.

If maternity wear fits me so well now, god forbid what will happen when I am actually pregnant.

Back to square one I guess.

The Power of Social Media

Over the past few weeks I have been amazed at the power of social media, I know I shouldn’t I be, considering that events in the past have shown how strong an effect social media is in our world, but I am.

Sites like Twitter explode when something big happens in the news.  The death of Michael Jackson, the devastating Earthquake that hit Japan, and Haiti, the riots across London, to name but a few.

Then there’s Facebook, not as big as Twitter, but still a similar effect across the board.

On the 8th of August, I published a post about the London Riots, followed up by a post called A City in Flames, and then by UK Riots, and I was floored by the number of hits my blog got over those 3 posts.  More than I have ever experienced in my life. Twitter across London exploded with Angry tweets about what was happening in the UK, and once the rioting and looting calmed down, a new hashtag appeared #riotcleanup.  Thousands across the UK picked up their brooms, buckets and marigolds and headed to areas that were destroyed in a bit to help local councils clean up.  It was amazing, a real sense of community spirit.

So far (as of Thursday 11th Aug) over 1,800 people were arrested with over 500 charged with a criminal offence connected to the rioting and looting. It turns out that those rioting were organising the chaos via BBM, another social media tool. British Courts worked through the night to see cases.  Our Police services worked hard to bring things under control and restore peace.  Our Fire service worked their socks off to put fires under control and out, and our Ambulance service and Hospital personnel worked hard to treat those affected.

I have a close friend who is a police officer, he has worked 20 hours days since the 8th of August, his partner hasn’t seen him as he’s been at work.  Him and thousands of others have worked so hard and for their actions I am grateful.  Dare I say it, it could have been so much worse.

Yesterday I used social media to try and help find my 17-year-old cousin, who at the time we believed was missing.  I tweeted his description, last seen whereabouts and a picture and asked my 660 followers to please RT my message.  Almost everyone did.  My 1 tweet was RT’d to thousands of people across the world. The post I wrote was RT’d to thousands of people across the world, and eventually we found him. Thankfully he was safe, unfortunately he was in a pickle.  Turns out social media had brought him into contact with someone unsavoury, who took advantage of his good nature and naivety.

Social Media is a good thing, but it can also cause chaos and wreak havoc.  It can be used to spread important information and news, but it can also be used by unsavoury people for cyber-bullying (post to come soon) and to wreak havoc and spread vicious rumours.  It’s about the way you use it and who uses it.

Social Media is a powerful tool, and I urge others to be wary.  Don’t RT things unless you are sure they are correct. Don’t make a habit of being vicious to others via Twitter or Facebook or on Blog comments. Be careful who you engage with, and remember if someone wants you to do something that makes you uncomfortable or something you think may be wrong, don’t feel pressured, just say no.  Remember social media gives us the tools to block people, use that tool. Don’t be afraid to say No. Use your common sense people.

Why I love Rugby

I decided today that I needed to blog (after reading about a million posts on AimingLow), however didn’t really have a clue on what to blog about.  So I twittered.  I asked my followers.  I only got 2 responses.  well, so far anyway.

@a_masters wrote Ugo Monye?
@olibuckley wrote How Jack dies in Lost?

From the title of my blog post, it’ll be clear to some that I’m not writing about how Jack dies in Lost.  Lets face it, there’s still a few episodes to go, and he may live.  but I’ll save that topic for another day.

So Ugo Monye.  He’s one of the reasons as to why “I love Rugby”.  Along with Danny Care, men in tight shorts tackling each other and getting all muddy…. AHEM. sorry, lets get back on track.

About 18 months/2 years ago my husband asked me if I wanted to go to a Rugby game.  I’d never been to one and I’m keen to experience new things, so off we went.  I’m now the proud owner of a season ticket.  You’d expect that after nearly 2 years, I’d get it, not just get it, but fully get it, y’know.  but this is me we’re talking about.  I get distracted.  I know that if you touch the ball over the try line, it’s a try.  I know if you kick the ball over the post after a try, it’s a converted try.  I know that if you throw the ball infront, it’s BAD.  I know what a scrum looks like.  I even know some of the positions that there are, wing, number 8, scrum half.  There is so much more to rugby, that I haven’t a clue about.  I often miss things cause I’m too busy looking at non-important things.

With my season ticket, I have a team shirt, and a pair of rugby socks like the ones Ugo wears in this picture.

I got them for Christmas, and every game I wore them to, we (by we I mean Quins) won.  They are my lucky socks.  I even have team pyjamas.
Anyway, so this post is supposed to be about Ugo Monye (the guy above).  And I totally didn’t steal borrow any information from Wikipedia.
He was born on the 13 th April 1983 (only a year older than me!)
He currently plays for Harlequins RFC as Wing/Centre.
He scored his first try for England against Scotland at Twickenham in the Six Nations on March 21 2009.
He is a born again Christian.
He is 6″2 and weighs 92Kgs.
He used to be a runner.
He is on twitter, and I follow him.
When you search him name on the Harlequins website, there are 637 results (as of 3/02/10)
At the beginning of each home game, when he’s announced as playing, the fans scream “UUUUUUUGO!” (I am one of them)
He looks good without many clothes on. (see below)
This is why, I love Rugby.
