Today seems to be driving me up the wall.I think finally everything is catching up on me and finally breaking me down.I cannot wait until I go on Holiday on the 10th.I think it’ll be a break I really will need. And when I get back I only have to endure guests for another 2-3 days before I can get some peace and quiet again.

I’ve had no personal space since February. And going to Daniel’s at the weekends technically doesn’t count. To be honest I think the only time I’ve had to myself is when I’m in the bathroom, and there is only so many times you can hide out in the bathroom before someone starts to ask why you keep going in there.

Since February I’ve been sharing a room with my cousin from Cayman. She decided she wanted to come over here to live and join the army, what not.Now she’s decided to go back home on the 11th of June.

It’s really hard getting to grips with sharing my space with another girl. Before I used to be able to go home, put on my pj’s and laze around, do whatever I like, not have to speak to anyone etc. Now, although I can laze around, it’s different. And it’s slowly been driving me up the wall. And I’m afraid to say last night pushed me right over the edge.

I got in late, as I went out with Kerry, and mum was asking me where I went, how my evening was etc, and I said I’d been to see Sex and the City, and I got called a bitch for it.And yeah it may have been in jest, but sill.I’m entitled to go and watch a film with my best friend if I want to, and I shouldn’t have to be made to feel guilty for it.I decided that after quite a long evening, I needed some sleep and she was watching a programme called Caribbean Cops (like Cops, but in the Caribbean) and one of the British tourists was being interviewed and her comment was that the Caribbean was much better than boring old London, to which my cousin exclaimed “hear hear that’s right”

And that really ticked me off.If you don’t like it here, then FUCK OFF.No one is forcing you to stay.

It really bugs me that people from different parts of the world can come to the UK and then complain that it’s not like their own country.Of course it’s not you dickwad, it’s it’s own country with it’s own style, so it’s very unlikely it’s going to be like a small town poxy island that half the world has never heard of and doesn’t even show properly on a map.

Sadly the Cayman Islands are nothing like London. They both have pro’s and cons, like anywhere else in the world.

Cayman – you have sun, sand, and sea. It’s not frowned upon if you get up and laze on the beach all day and drink yourself into a frenzy, you’re on holiday after all.The locals only have the option of partying and going to the “305” (Miami to those who don’t live on the “rock”) the Island is so small, that after living in London I don’t see how I could ever be on the Island for more than 2 weeks.Anything more and I’d find a shotgun and blow my brains out.

London is a cosmopolitan city, with more bars and pubs that Cayman has churches (and that’s saying something). In London you have Soho, the capitals gay capital;.in Cayman they’re incredibly homophobic it’s unbelievable. They once turned down a cruise ship that catered for gays and lesbians. The Cayman Islands government refused to let the ship dock in its harbours and allow passengers into the islands. And the locals supported it.Despite thatCaymans main source of income is touristy, they turned down a ship with thousands of tourists on it, because they were gay, they’re more concerned about Homosexuality being wrong because in the bible it’s wrong that they lost out on making some income.Stupid if you ask me.

I’d rather live in London any day.It may be expensive, but at least there is more to do than go to the beach, go to stingray city etc etc.

Argh – this whole blog entry is a rant. :(

I’m just in a funny mood today, where everything is pissing me off and I just want to be in bed with sod all to do.

Sex and the City

I watched the film this evening, after dinner with the Karebear. It was surprisingly good….and I’m unsure as to why I never watched the series in the first place. It’s actually very amusing and throws you a few lessons too.

With laughs to be had (quite a few) and a humping dog, I did really enjoy myself.

It’s funny. after watching it you can compare yourself to the characters. Karebear is so Samantha. and that’s all I have to say. She knows it too. :-)

The moral of the story (in which I won’t share, in case there are people who’ve not yet seen it and want to) has made me realise that I (we) need to sit back and decide on what we really want from life. from relationships. from love.

Apart from saving for the next 2 years, I think this is what I’m going to do. sit, think and learn. not neccessarily in that order. i’ll maybe mix it up a bit. or not. or whatever.

in other news, I joined this forumy thing that Daniel said I should do. rllmuk or something or other.

If you’re on there, I’m Citizen Girl.

I think I might retake up a project. I reckon that I could do it. Fingers crossed.

Time!

Well it’s been a good weekend so far, despite the crappy weather today.

This morning Daniel and I went out for breakfast to Wetherspoons in Twickenham. It was lovely, we got there about 10ish and I was shocked to see so many old fogies having a pint of beer! good grief! who drinks beer at ten in the morning. shocking what old people spend their pensions on.

For the rest of the day I plan to relax. we’re having a BBQ later today, so that should be cool. hmmmmmm wonder what’s on the tellybox??

I’m sorry to say you have an addickshun

It’s been ages sinces I’ve seen one of my best friends, and we went out last night for “curry and a pint” and had a right old laugh catching up and what not.

She does make me laugh, and she’s probably the reason…in fact I KNOW she’s the reasons all my A* predicition grades when out the window and we only got A’s and B’s.

I remember this one time, we both joined ranks with these boys in our English class called David and Mark. We thought it’d be extremely funny to buy some superglue and stick money to the floor. We started off small, you know the odd 10p here and there and eventually we progressed up to pound coins. (I’m pretty sure we wasted at least 5 quid) It was hilarious (if a bit mean) watching all the 1st and 2nd years try to “discreetly” pick up the money in their variously styles… until one day we decided money wasn’t fun anymore (it does get boring watching the kids try to pick up money that’s stuck to the floor) so we glued a ruler to a desk. (which was oh so naughty but oh so funny) I think after that the novely wore off, so we stopped and did some other pranks, which involved body shop lipbalm but I won’t go into it…. Kerry knows.

anyways – we went out last night and caught up and I have decided she has an addiction, and she agrees. but it’s not a bad one (well not too bad!) so I suppose it’s ok. LOL.

Other than that didn’t really do much else.

p.s if you ever go to the hungry horse pub/restaurant DON’T have the chocolate brownies with icecream. ew!

sign here please

I didn’t leave work until gone 7 last night, due to my department moving floors. I swear to the heavens that I spent yesterday doing nothing but cleaning. I actually didn’t do much work yesterday. :-( which means it all needs completing today.

Also I got my Metropolitan Police Authority ID card yesterday! I’m now officially an Independent Custody Visitor, which means I can go into Police Stations (in my area) and inspect them!

My cousin who’s been staying with me for a bit now has decided to go back to Cayman, and has changed her return date on her ticket. Instead of going back in November, now she goes back in June.

I’m off out this evening with Kerry for Curry and a pint…..hmmmmm I’ve never seen Kare drink a pint, so that should be interesting. come to think of it I didn’t even think she drunk beer!

Tomorrow I’m cooking Spaghetti Bolognaise in the evening for my team the next day. I promised them ages ago, so now I’m finally getting round to it.

Friday I’m off over to see my beloved. I think the plan is dinner and a film….but not sure yet.

It’s a bank holiday weekend this week, which is fantastic! love it. 4 day week next week and I can’t wait.

This time in 3 weeks I shall be eating croissants by the pool!

BRING IT ON!

p.s i love you

There are very few films and books that cause me to be emotional. One of them is P.S I Love You by Cecelia Ahern. It’s about an Irish girl (Holly) who becomes a widow when her husband Gerry dies from a brain tumour. Gerry leaves Holly a series of letters to help her cope with his death, each letter is signed p.s i love you.

This book, I have read about 3 or 4 times now, and I shall probably read it again. a timeless classic that i am positive anyone who reads it will enjoy.

As most people who know me will confirm, I simply detest films that are made into books, especially if i have read the book first (still….not enough detesting not to go and see and somewhat enjoy these films). Harry Potter is one, they forgot stuff and put stuff in that wasn’t relevant. The Golden Compass….ended WAY too early for my liking. and so on so on, you get the gist.

P.S I Love You – I really enjoyed it, but so much about it was so wrong. For instance Holly’s family (where were they?) In the book her mum and dad are happily married, and she has 2 brothers and a sister. In the film her dad left her mum and she only has a sister. Also Holly’s IRISH not AMERICAN. oh well. It was still a good film (but not as good as the book). What happened to the annual ball? even so, I did really enjoy it.

A serious recommendation to anyone, but do watch AND read it. It’s worth it.

Its the kind of book that makes you realise what you have and makes you cherish it.

Both the book and the film caused me to shed a tear….which is rare. It’s so heart warming and the characters are so real, and it’s scary how drawn into the story you get. I have a Gerry and I’m thankful that I have a wonderful person in my life.

This post is for Daniel – my love.

p.s. I Love You
