My beautiful little island is going to be lashed by a hurricane again – actually it’s probably in the middle of it right now! so if you’re braving out Gustav and still have internet, then know that I’m hoping you’ll all come out ok.
on other news – I’m going to a car boot sale today. should be fun!

So yesterday morning – lucky me, got woken up by a complete stranger on the way into Waterloo.
I was so tired, because of being out really late the night before (to see Conor Oberst – which was ace) that I fell asleep on the train into work. The train gets into Waterloo at 8.00 and I was woken up by a really nice lady at 8.04, a whole 4 minutes after the train had finished it’s journey – EMBARRASSED or what!?!?!
Even the Train Guard smirked at me, probably thinking 52nd one this week. bastard.
So yeah, went to Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band at the Electric Ballroom, was ace.
The band before was Euros Childs, who were also pretty cool. At first we thought they might have been Norwegian or something, but turns out they were Welsh. random or what?
“Hey ya Matilda….Superman is Super!” awesome song.
Other than that, not a lot has happened, apart from me still needing a shit load amount of sleep. I was pretty tired yesterday, and think I managed to get some decent sleep last night.
another random – I remember waking Daniel up in the early hours of Thursday morning and telling him that I had killed an old person or a person, whatever, with a cheese grater. how random. and I asked him if it was true and he said yes! and I didn’t even eat anything weird before bed.
today it’s busy busy busy then the weekend.
WIN!

so I complained about this last night, after seeing it 4 times on one channel.
It’s sick. Why would anyone create such a disturbing advert? And how on earth does it represent the product? There is nothing natural about this advert despite it advertising a “natural” product. I just don’t see where the link is. unless of course it’s advertising that this product is a product of GM sources.
either way – it’s sick.

not a lot has happened really. Friday afternoon came down with a sore throat and when I woke up on Saturday morning I was sick. As I was sick I felt justified to spend the day on the sofa, or was it Sunday I did that? well anyhoo. must of been sunday – in fact I can’t believe I don’t remember it.
not clearly anyway.
ok – lets start again.
Friday I had a sore throat, Saturday I was a bit icky – yes that’s right. then I went to see my grandad. He thinks Daniel is lovely.
Then Sunday, I woke up sick. AHA! I remember now!
anyway so did that.
Monday I went to this makeover and photoshoot with Sophie and Tash. I won it online. Ended up spending a few quid on the photo’s, which are on my facebook account. They’re pretty cool. Tash and Soph had a good time too. I think.
other than that, not a lot has happened. my life is pretty boring and mediocre.
I’m going to Cayman soon. Daniel is still having issues with flying. He really hates it, and I feel like a real shite girlfriend, because I basically twisted his arm to agree to come, and I go on about it all the time. and he’s petrified of planes.
Me on the other hand, I’m petrified of spiders. bloody hate them. Saw one in the garden, panicked, ran into the house and had a crying fit. it was this tiny (ish) spider, and I have such a phobia I had a full on crying fit. Me making Daniel go on a 9 hour plane drive must be like someone making me hold a spider. horrible. I officially suck.
suckity suck suck suck

Yesterday was mine and Daniels first anniversary. 1 year. 1 whole year.
It was really sweet, I got a single red rose, in a vase, with chocolates delivered to my office. When I got home I was made an amazing 3 course meal, homemade Brushetta, home made pasta with pesto and cream, and homemade blackberry cheesecake. sooooooooooooooooooo nice.
Today I went to see my gorgey nephew. he is very sweet and loveable. however he’s started teething! at 6 weeks old! normally first teeth don’t arrive until 5 or 6 months. i bet his mum is thinking, if he takes such a short amount of time to get teeth, I hope it’s the same as when he starts to potty train!! he is gorgey though. smiles a lot, which is so awesome to see.
Today I also got some very not so good news.
My grandad has had cancer for a while, 2 or 3 years now, but it was all in check. About 4 months ago he was told that he had to have an MRI scan and also some radiotherapy. So he had his scan, and it came back that his cancer had spread, so he had to have the radio therapy pretty quickly. He had another scan recently and was told the cancer has spread quite widely now, and has now reached his head. He’s been given two options.
Have chemo therapy and possibly live for another 2 or 3 years. or. Don’t have Chemo and have only 6 weeks left to go.
I’m sad. I mean I knew my grandad had cancer, and was being treated, and obviously we all die at some point, but he’s not even 70. I didn’t expect it to happen this quickly. I’m all over the place.

So I went shopping at the weekend, as now I have decided I hate shopping for clothes. hate it hate it HATE IT!
It’s horrible. I went in all these shops and saw all these really pretty dresses and tops and trousers , and none of them were in my size. so not only do I HATE SHOPPPING but I HATE SKINNY GIRL SHOPS.
I eventually go into Dorothy Perkins, who do my size, find some nice stuff on the shelves, and try them on (in the changing rooms not just on the shop floor) and woe and behold none of it fits!!! so now i am thoroughly depressed as I am what is known as “massive heffer” who can’t find clothes to fit over her massive nungas. and I hate shopping, which sucks.
I did eventually find some stuff, a few tops (3) of which I spent £92 on.
It’s so not fair, the only shops I can find stuff to fit me, I have to pay an absolute fortune for. Not like when you go into New Look and Top Shop and pay decent prices (well not always) for something in a size -48.
oh – and it’s a good thing I can’t afford designer stuff, hardly likely to find a Chanel suit in anything smaller than a size 12. but at least there are shoes. oh no. wait. I can’t afford jimmy choos either.
oh well I guess I’d better lump it.

so I refinanced my loan yesterday, which was cool, as it saves me some money every month.
approximately £200 a month, which is ace. on the flip side of that (which too is ace) I seem to have got £700 out of it. However no coin has the same side (usually heads and tails, rather than head and head or tail and tail), so I think before I decide to spend that £700 on rubbish, I might just check with the bank that they’ve calculated my re-financed loan correctly. god forbid i spend it and then have issues (all 700 of them) later.
so groovy fab if it is my money! woo! but I guess I’ll be putting it to good use, such as spending money for the upcoming holiday.
sadly the exchange rate has dropped. It’s still better than it used to be.
It used to be 1.29 Cayman Dollars to the British Pound. When I changed up some money about a month ago it worked out at 1.49 to the pound. Yesterday it was 1.41 to the pound. still. better than 1.29
I had a full team in yesterday – which was great. first time in 3 weeks. however that stops as of tomorrow, as someone else jets of on their summer holidays. however Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive springs to mind.
Countdown – 12 weeks and 1 day to go before my holiday- that is 85 days left. that means only 59 more working days until I go! whoop whoop!

overall an uneventful day yesterday.
went to work, went to the library, went home, went to bed. BOOOOOOOOORING.
however, I did get a visit from my nephew. His mum and dad brought him over to say hello to everyone. He’s such a gorgey baby. I did take some more pictures, however I seem to have lost my camera cable, so I wasn’t able to download them from the camera on to the laptop. oh well. will just have to try and find it.
I’ve started to watch sex and the city, on paramount comedy. It’s actually quite funny. I’m not watching in order, in fact I’ve no idea what series the episodes are from. eitherhoo they’re good.
downloaded the soundtrack for Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging. awesome!

well well well. i’m baaaaaaaaaa-ack!
anywhoo’s
Friday was an entirely uneventful day seeing as I went home from work without a migraine. I got home and slept for 4 hours before having dinner and going back to bed.
Saturday I got to meet some of Daniels’ WoW friends. They all met up for a drink and then pizza and then more drinks. It was trés fun.
Sunday we got up, went out for lunch, and then to the cinema and then to Daniel’s mums for dinner – lush.
I saw Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging. It was rather good if I say so, although Daniel probably doesn’t agree with that statement. He asked me if 15 year old girls really behave that way. I’m sure they do.
It’s a fabbity fab book and I loved reading it and the film was good too.
